Wyatt’s East Coast BFF visits in July

As if I could forget about you, Jordana.  At the end of July, my baby-mama soul mate and her family came to visit us in CO.  The weekend not only marks the visit of Wyatt’s east coast BFF Benjamin (who he endearingly refers to as B), but also Wyatt’s first steps.  We didn’t need to do much, but be together, but we did go to the zoo, a splash pad, the pool, the park, and ate a lot of snacks.  For the blog world, Jordana and I met in childbirth class just over 2 years ago and after some awkward phone number exchanges at 7+ months preggers we met for lunch and a moms group.  It’s as if we’re the same person and I literally wouldn’t have survived these past two years without her.  Jordana, thanks for being you – and more.  Lots of love and visit again soon – Wyatt misses B ALMOST as much as I miss you. xo

More July 2014 Highlights

In July we celebrated Gigi’s (my mom) birthday twice, Grandpa Al came for a visit from FL, we went hiking with Aunt Leslie and Uncle Michael in Nederland, played at the pool, visited Uncle Charlie, Aunt Cindy, cousin Mordechi and family in C. Springs, and Aunt Leslie also came down to us for some playtime!!  It was busy and it was awesome.

July 4th Weekend, 2014

July 4th weekend our dear dear friends from NYC, Karen, Kete, and Tessa, came for a visit!  We had a blast celebrating the holiday at our pool and with friends (complete with a fire truck excursion), went for breakfast at Snooze and then to the zoo, took walks, etc etc.  Tessa and Wyatt have known one another since they were in the belly, so it’s a blast to watch them interact and play together as they grow.  And Karen and Kete, well we just love them to pieces.  Our adventures are slightly different now than before kids, when Karen and I took a weekend jaunt to Paris, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.  Come again soon!!!!

P.S. This makes me miss my long hair and Wyatt’s curls.

 

Weekend in Vail–June 2014

In June, we headed up to Vail for a long weekend.  We did some awesome hiking (Wyatt slept) and had delicious meals.  Thinking we’ll make it an annual summer tradition!

Aunt Erika and Cousin Elizabeth take on CO–May 2014

In May, yes I’m THAT far behind (especially because Elizabeth is now a BIG sister to Charlotte), Arion’s big sis Erika came out to visit!!  We had the best time taking walks, going to the pool, cheering on Arion at his softball game, and hanging around the house.  Thanks for the visit, we can’t wait to host you now as a family of 4, sometime soon!!

2015 – A Return to Blogging?

I’m not one to make resolutions, but I think it’s about time I returned to blogging!!  After all, I’ve been taking photos of our adventures all year, so we have a lot to catch up on.  We also have some incredible travel in store for 2015 (big trip: Morocco!!) and we’ll have a TWO-YEAR-OLD here in a couple of months!!

So, I’m making no promises, because I hate breaking them, but here goes nothing!!

2014 was an incredible year with the biggest highlight being the purchase and move into our “forever home”!  Here are a few “before” listing photos to help with the excitement:

Not included are the upstairs bedrooms (4), main floor office, eat-in kitchen nook, and unfinished basement.  Wyatt’s room was the finished first and documented with the help of my good friend…

I’ll take some more photos soon of the other spaces, but that feels like a good place to start for the new year.
