How Big Is Baby: A winter melon, Yay! Baby has reached full term. S/He likely measures around 18.9 to 20.9 inches and weighs about 6.2 to 9.2 pounds. S/He’s gaining about 1/2 ounce each day. S/He’s practicing some skills: inhaling, exhaling, sucking, gripping and blinking. S/He’s getting his first sticky poop (called meconium) ready for his first diaper.
Sleep: A few hours here and there and not all in a row, but not as exhausted as one would assume after nights like that. Guess I’m preparing!?
Diet/Cravings/Aversions: Nope.
Exercise: Moving feels like a marathon, so yes, every time I move I consider it exercise ;).
Movement: A ton and at a somewhat predictable schedule – looks like we have a night-owl like mama AND a morning person like dad.
The Belly: Is just plain big, still an acceptable response?
What I’m Loving: That baby is ready to go. It’s quite a feeling of accomplishment, to be honest, that we got this far and now whenever she/he is ready, we’re good to go.
Worries: Overall overwhelming feelings this week that this is actually happening SOON.
Other Symptoms: Some serious Braxton Hicks contractions and constant thirst.
What I’m Looking Forward to: The first cry.
Best Moment of the Week: Had another great OB appointment (will now be a weekly occurrence) that showed a big healthy baby with quite a set of chubby cheeks. Said cheeks even prompted the sonographer to make a comment! Can’t wait to kiss them a billion times!!! Also, brunch. We’ve been having a lot of delicious brunch.
You look fabulous.. cant wait to see what’s inside there. Love Grandma and Barbara
