Travel Planning Update


What have I learned so far?  How little I know about Vietnam and Cambodia and all that there is to see/do there.  After many back and forth emails/phone calls/Gchat’s from NYC to Tulsa with the hubs, I think we have a rough outline…

  • Day 1-3: Arrive in Hanoi, take bicycle tour of city, visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and house
  • Day 4: Drive to Halong and board Junk ship, swim, kayak, explore caves
  • Day 5: More Halong Bay cruising, then back for 1/2 day in Hanoi
  • Day 6: Fly to Siem Reap, see Banteay Srei, enjoy Apsara dinner show
  • Day 7: Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom
  • Day 8: Siem Reap, see Beng Mealea
  • Day 9: Fly to Saigon, get 60-minute massage for $22
  • Day 10: Saigon War Remnants Museum and Chu Chi Tunnels
  • Day 11: Saigon Mekong River Cruise to Can Tho or Vinh Long Province
  • Day 12: Fly to Danang/Hoi An, take bicycle tour of city
  • Day 13: BEACH
  • Day 14: BEACH, maybe a boat trip on Thu Bon river
  • Day 15: BEACH, maybe a cooking class
  • Day 16: BEACH, afternoon flight to Bangkok
  • Day 17: Arrive in Frankfurt, Nugget-palooza
  • Day 18: Nugget-palooza
  • Day 19: Fly back to NYC

In a week it may be totally different, but I promised updates, so here they are along with some pictures to make you jealous.

Oh and if you have recommendations/tips, PLEASE pass along, we’re sorta grasping at straws here (and by straws, I mean Google searches).
