We headed to Baltimore for the weekend to see our friends Bana and Matt!!
In addition to the much-needed quality friend time that we had over nachos, wine, cheese, fruit, etc… we went to CrossFit on Saturday morning (which was necessary, considering that all of our quality time seemed to be spent over food ;)). CrossFit is a totally intense workout, as you can see below, I’m doing overhead squats with Bana – result, major soreness for 2 days post this “quality friend time”. The warm-up was: 400 meter run, 10 squats, 10 pushups, 10 pullups – twice. Yes, that was the WARM-UP. Then the Workout of the Day (WOD) was Overhead Squats 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps, for weight. Oh, and then there was a Bonus Round!! It was AMRAP (As Many Reps as Possible) in 15 minutes of: 5 Long Jumps, 10 burpees, and a 400 meter run. Basically, Bana and Matt are beasts (pretty ones).
After our workout we had a picnic in the park near their house with snacks and wine. DELICIOUS.
That evening Beth joined the four of us for dinner in Little Italy, before we headed to the Manchester City vs. Inter Milan soccer game at the M&T Bank Stadium. The boys had a great time watching soccer and well, the girls did too, with a little chatting/gossiping/judging, in the mix.
Sunday, we had brunch at the most glorious place in Pikesville called, Woodberry Kitchen. Scrumptious (is that even a word?) doesn’t even do it justice. Not to mention that we were eating outside on the patio with two favorites.
Then we sadly headed home – weekends with friends always go too fast.
And for your viewing pleasure, I will leave you with… the Miller furbabies!! Grace, who had an unfortunate haircut when we visited, was the most snuggly little munchkin, since the adoption of our own, Sadie. Jakey is the fluffiest cat I’ve ever come into contact with and snuggled him excessively, to prove it. And last, but certainly not least.. Molly Wobbles. Our favorite pup to ever wake us at 7:30am 🙂 with butt snuggles. They are all such lovebugs!!!
