This past weekend we were finally able to go to Mohonk Mountain House! Erika and Adam were generous enough to give us a gift certificate towards a stay at the resort for our wedding and with both of our busy schedules, July 10 was the first date this summer that we could make it happen.
Mohonk is glorious. In Adam’s words, “It’s like camp, for me”. We did a ton of hiking in the gorgeous scenery, along with conquering the Labyrinth Rock Scramble. This includes basically hiking over rocks that have red arrows painted on them to help you navigate to the top. Erika and I dubbed ourselves the Mohonk queens when we finished it. I didn’t bring my camera on this hike, but to give you an idea, here’s a picture of the famous Lemon Squeeze, which is a portion of the “trail”:
Afterwards, we went fishing in Mohonk lake and caught three little fishies!! We had to throw them back in as they were too little, but I was sure to name and talk to each of them throughout the process. Here’s the view of the Mountain House from our boat:
And the view from the balcony in our room:
We swam in Mohonk lake, jumped off the diving board like kids, and just had the most fantastic time. Here are a few more pictures from the weekend:
Overall, it was fantastic and we can’t wait to go back again soon!!
